Last Tango is pleased to be one of the host partners of UFFICIO DELLA NOTTE, a meeting point for the figures of the night, from 23.09. to 15.10.2022 in Zürich.

Pleasure - the sharing of joy - whether physical, emotional, psychological, or intellectual - as a key element within this realm has always connected and affected people. Therefore, we want to ask, where and how do we talk about pleasure? Which spaces are claimed and by whom? Are safe(r) spaces a utopia? To which extent do institutions determine what is sexually allowed/not allowed? And what does all this have to do with care work? In search of answers, UFFICIO DELLA NOTTE presents thirteen artistic positions that are shown in six different art spaces and clubs as well as in public spaces. The exhibition will also consist of walks, a pleasure positive party and a panel on the topic of Sexwork.

The exhibition takes place at Rote Fabrik, Die Diele, Parat, Last Tango, BosqueRreal, Baby Angel and in public space and is combined with walks, a pleasure positive party and a panel on the topic of Sexwork.

Berlin Strippers Collective, Red light to daylight, Performance

Berlin Strippers Collective is a self-organised collective of strippers, which has grown out of the solidarity and difficulties they have experienced in the industry. Often strip clubs have heteronormative, gendered and racist hiring processes. Berlin Strippers Collective aims to create an inclusive, sexy space while working to dismantle the stigma around stripping and sex work in general. Ivy and Maxine perform pole dances in the outside space Sihlhalle of Last Tango during the light of day and the beginning of the night. Their aim is to subvert the usual environment of dark red lit rooms which are usually associated with stripping.

Panel Discussion Sexwork is Work! with Rebecca Angelini from ProCoRe (Prostitution Collective Reflection), Ivy and Maxine from Berlin Strippers Collective and the artist and Sexworker Dario Callerame. Last Tango is located at Sihlquai 274, in the immediate vicinity where Sexworkers once worked on the so-called Sihlquai-Strich until 2013. The talk wants to discuss the displacement of Sexwork through gentrification in Switzerland and Germany, as well as positioning Sexwork as a form of labour and corporal empowerment. Hosted by neo seefried and Marcel Hörler. The discussion will be held in English.

Curator and art mediator neo seefried takes you on a walking tour through the different spaces of the exhibition. Neo’s mediative approach is always about raising questions and providing food for thought about political dimensions of society. The group will walk the city from the riverside from Kreis Five to Kreis Four through the Langstrassenquartier, and will end in Kreis Three at BosqueRreal. How do we talk about pleasure, tenderness and spaces that allow us to feel free?

Vergnügen - das Teilen von Freude - berührt und verbindet Menschen. Obwohl bestimmte Praktiken, insbesondere solche, die nicht-normativen, queeren, nicht-monogamen und nicht-binären Lebensweisen entsprechen, von den Institutionen der Macht schon immer marginalisiert, kriminalisiert oder zumindest ignoriert wurden. Dennoch haben die Figuren der Nacht die Grenzen des gesellschaftlichen Anstands überschritten. Was bleibt, sind Fragen: Wo und wie sprechen wir über Vergnügen? Welche Räume werden beansprucht und von wem? Sind sichere Räume nur Träume einer verborgenen Utopie? Inwieweit bestimmen Institutionen, was sexuell erlaubt/nicht erlaubt ist? Und was hat das alles mit Care-Arbeit zu tun? Auf der Suche nach Antworten präsentiert UFFICIO DELLA NOTTE dreizehn künstlerische Positionen, die in sechs verschiedenen Kunsträumen und Clubs sowie im öffentlichen Raum gezeigt werden. Die Ausstellung findet vom 23. September bis 15. Oktober 2022 in Zürich statt und wird mit Spaziergängen, einer Pleasure positive Party und einem Podiumsgespräch zum Thema Sexwork kombiniert.

Das Berlin Strippers Collective ist ein selbstorganisiertes Kollektiv von Striper*innen, das aus der Solidarität und den Schwierigkeiten, die sie in der Branche erlebt haben, erwachsen ist. Stripclubs haben oft heteronormative, geschlechtsspezifische und rassistische Anstellungsverhältnisse. Das Berlin Strippers Collective hat sich zum Ziel gesetzt, einen inklusiven sexy Raum zu schaffen und gleichzeitig daran zu arbeiten, das Stigma des Strippens und der Sexarbeit im Allgemeinen abzubauen. Ivy und Maxine führen im Außenbereich der Sihlhalle von Last Tango bei Tageslicht und zu Beginn der Nacht Pole Dance auf. Ihr Ziel ist es, die übliche Umgebung von dunklen, rot beleuchteten Räumen, die normalerweise mit Strippen in Verbindung gebracht werden, zu unterlaufen.

Podiumsdiskussion Sexwork is Work! mit Rebecca Angelini von ProCoRe (Prostitution Collective Reflection), Ivy und Maxine vom Berlin Strippers Collective und dem Künstler und Sexarbeiter Dario Callerame. Last Tango befindet sich am Sihlquai 274, in unmittelbarer Nähe zu dem Ort, an dem bis 2013 Sexarbeitende auf dem sogenannten Sihlquai-Strich gearbeitet haben. Das Gespräch will die Verdrängung von Sexarbeit durch Gentrifizierung in der Schweiz und in Deutschland diskutieren, sowie Sexarbeit als eine Form von Arbeit und körperlicher Ermächtigung positionieren. Moderiert von neo seefried und Marcel Hörler. Die Diskussion findet in Englisch statt.

Kurator*in und Kulturvermittler*in neo seefried nimmt dich mit auf einen Rundgang durch die verschiedenen Räume der Ausstellung. Bei neos Vermittlungsansatz geht es immer darum, Fragen aufzuwerfen und Denkanstösse zu gesellschaftlichen-politischen Dimensionen zu geben. Die Gruppe spaziert vom Flussufer durch den Kreis fünf, zum Kreis vier durch das Langstrassenquartier und endet im Kreis drei am BosqueRreal. Wie sprechen wir über Pleasure, Zärtlichkeiten und Orte, an denen wir uns frei fühlen?
