Always more than one
A publication by Giuliana Beya Dridi, Cathrin Jarema, Lukas Kaufmann and Gianna Virginia Prein
16.12.23 from 18:00

Always more than one uses Sara Ahmed's book Strange Encounters. Embodied Others in Post Coloniality as a starting point. The artists developed the publication in multiples stages, reflecting upon the figure of the stranger. Strange Encounters challenges the assumption that the stranger is someone we do not know. Ahmed argues that the stranger is socially constructed and even very familiar to us. Drawing on feminist and postcolonial theories, it explores the impact of multiculturalism and globalization on embodiment and community. The publication Always more than one follows a participatory format. Built upon on each other, new contributions came about through interpretation and observation.
